She and her brother Steve have spread starters across the twelve-race programme, including the $100,000 Ascot Park Hotel Invercargill Cup, the Group One feature.
Sandy coast (Sunshine Beach) starts in the Diamond Creek Farm/SSBR Robin Dundee Crown. Her recent form has been solid, but there were excuses.
“She had allergies after those first few runs. I think we’ve gotten over that a bit and last week was a much better run. Short distance and a draw with Tim (Williams) on board, she’s going to get every opportunity,” Amanda said.
Transonic, (Gamblers delight) after winning impressively at Ashburton, he ran second to last at his next start at Addington. He races in the Shaw Building Mobile Pace.
“He didn’t perform great after that race. He was a bit colicky and stressed afterwards. We were happy to see him back and win last week. There’s no reason why he can’t continue with it. He’s quite a nice horse.”
BD room (Andover Hall) fronts in the McKnight and Brown Handicap Trot. After running a close second on his first start this preparation, he uncharacteristically broke on his last start at Geraldine.
“He got a bit lost on the grass at first. We added some jump boots to him this week. He raced with them last time. With the jump boots on his work was very good. In the first races he won at Invercargill he was able to start quickly. If he can get those back he will put himself in a handy spot.”
Always B magic (Always B Miki) races in the Canada Stakes for three-year-old fillies.
“It’s going to be a fun little race. She’s quite a tough mare and I don’t think she needs to be ridden for a sitting and sprinting event. She’s quite forward and her work is great. It just depends on what run she gets.”
High meteor (Art major) is the stable representative in the $100,000 Group One Ascot Park Hotel Invercargill Cup. The five-year-old gelding gains a 10-metre lead over favorite Republican Party and Amanda thinks that will make a difference.

“I think he’ll do well. Normally he’s a fast and safe starter. Hopefully he can get through it and finish early. Then Tim will have options if the Republican Party makes a move.”
Sonofamistery (Dear Lou) was back in winning form on his last start and he draws the outside of the front row in the Sheet Metalcraft Limited Mobile Pace.

“It’s a nice pitch. We’re really happy with the way he’s trained after his last few runs. He seems to be in top form now so I expect him to do quite well.”
JT Boe (Always B Miki) and Sea Rose (On the coast) round off Telfers Day at the McEwan Bloodstock Wayne (Ox) McEwan Memorial.
JT Boe draws outside on the front row and is handled by Williams.

“He doesn’t have great running speed. I’d say he’ll find a position early and be put into it later. He’s got a pretty big motor and Tim is getting to know him a lot better now. His work has been great and we’re happy with him.”
Seaside Rose impressed in her latest win at Winton last Sunday.
“Tim stayed down there (at Ryal Bush with Brett Gray) and he says she’s jumping out of her skin. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her run a really good race.”
