Speaking at the farewell session of the 23rd edition of BioAsia 2026 here on Wednesday, he said: “This is by far the most successful edition of Bio Asia to date, creating avenues for global partnerships and promoting innovation in AI, automation, cell and gene therapies and advanced manufacturing.”
There was significant international engagement this year, with global companies from France, Indonesia, the US and Novartis celebrating Hyderabad as a major hub for investment and innovation.
Initiatives such as the Next Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026-30 are designed to ensure that Telangana continues to attract global capital, talent and expertise while delivering solutions that improve patient outcomes globally, Sridhar Babu said.
RICH
The Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH) launched the Telangana Hospital-Industry Innovation Bridge at BioAsia 2026. The initiative is in line with Telangana’s Vision 2047 and aims to strengthen the state’s position as a global leader in healthcare innovation, translational research and medtech manufacturing. The initiative was formally launched by the Hon’ble Minister of IT & Industries – Shri. D. Sridhar Babu at BioAsia 2026 in the presence of leading healthcare leaders.
The launch was attended by leading representatives from various hospitals in Telangana including AIG Hospitals, Kamineni Hospitals, Bridge Gap Hospitals, Manaha Clinic, LVPEI, Ozone Hospitals, Grace Cancer Foundation and Excell Hospitals
Designed as a structured bridge between clinics and industries, the program aims to go beyond conventional partnerships by anchoring clinical and industry immersion pathways into the innovation ecosystem.
The initiative will create a hands-on learning environment where physicians, medical students, researchers, startups and industry leaders interact through curated exposure visits and collaboration platforms.
The pilot phase will start with selected institutions and will then be expanded to a larger national network.
“Telangana continues to focus on building strong bridges between healthcare, innovators and industry. The Hospital-Industry-Innovation Bridge is a timely initiative that will strengthen the state’s innovation pipeline and strengthen Telangana’s position as a leading innovation hub for life sciences and healthcare,” said Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana.
