LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Six months before Kentucky Derby 152, the pari-mutuel field of “All other foals and geldings” closed as the 6-5 favorite in Pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW) and Hopeful (Grade I) and Breeders’ Futurity (GI) winner Ted Noffeywho will compete in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (GI) on Friday, was the second choice at 10-1.

Other horses that attracted mild interest from bettors included the Del Mar Futurity (GI) winner and the youth entrant Brant (14-1); Second place Breeders’Futurity Blackout time (20-1); and Keeneland girls winner by 20 lengths Further Ad (21-1).

The pool closed at 6 p.m. Friday (all times Eastern) and post time for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Del Mar was 7:45 p.m.

Total amount for the October 29-31 KDFW pool – the first of six planned betting pools prior to the 152i.e The edition of the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (GI) on Saturday, May 2, was a record $184,492 ($143,448 in the Win pool and $41,044 in Exactas) in early November, up 5.6% from last year’s $174,785 ($138,536 in the Win pool and $36,249 in Exactas).

Other future deployment dates are set for November 27-30 (pool 2); January 16-18 (pool 3); February 13-15 (pool 4); March 13-15 (pool 5) and April 2-4 (pool 6). Pool 2 will also feature the Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager, while Pool 5 will feature the Longines Kentucky Oaks Future Wager.
