[Teams] Liverpool vs West Ham: Confirmed lineups as Gomez returns

Liverpool will look to boost their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League with a win over West Ham at Anfield this afternoon.

The Reds go into the weekend action sitting sixth in the Premier League, level on points with fifth-placed Chelsea and three behind fourth-placed Manchester United. With things so tight in the race for Champions League qualification, Liverpool know they can’t afford to make any mistakes at home against the Hammers today.

Arne Slot has made one change from the side that started in the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest last time out, with Joe Gomez coming into defence. This will allow Dominic Szoboszlai to move into a more familiar role in midfield, meaning Curtis Jones will drop out.

Alisson Becker holds the goal again, while Ibrahima Konate is in the middle of Liverpool’s defense together with Virgil van Dijk. Milos Kerkez is selected again ahead of Andrew Robertson at left back.

Ryan Gravenberch starts in the Liverpool role, while Alexis Mac Allister retains his place in the middle of the park. Mohamed Salah is on the right wing, while Cody Gakpo and Hugo Ekitike form the front three.

As for West Ham, Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back, while Kostas Mavropanos and Axel Disasi share the back four. Tomas Soucek starts in midfield while Mateus Fernandes also keeps his place.

Jarrad Bowen and Crysencio Summerville support Valentin Castellanos in the West Ham attack this afternoon. Callum Wilson is therefore named as one of the replacements, together with Adama Traoré and Mohamadou Kante.
