Southland owned Pacer Tact McLeod (Dear Lou) Do not run in this year’s IRT New Zealand Cup.
“It is nothing serious, but serious enough to keep him out of the cup. It is a tendon problem rightly the Koute at the bottom. He has been to the Waterlooper, has been treated and will soon start swimming,” said partly owner Trevor Proctor.
Proctor is not sure of how the injury occurred.
“We don’t know for sure if it is related to stress or when it happened. He has had no pain. The vet seems to think that it was an old injury.”
So Tact McLeod’s path back to the circuit will be slow and stable.
“He will probably go back to Australia, but Mark (trainer Mark Jones) will have a better idea as soon as he gets him to full steam.”
After performing deserving races in the New Zealand Cup and New Zealand for free for everyone, Tact McLeod started an Australian campaign.
In eight starts there he recorded a victory, three seconds and two -thirds.
He was beaten by a neck by Swayzee in the Cordina Group Sprint, finished third in the Cranbourne Cup behind Leap to Fame and Don’t Stop Dreaming, third in the Miracle Mile won by Don Hugo and celebrated in the Hunter Cup behind Swayzee, jumped to Roem and Republican Party.
The slightly raced six years old has only had thirty starts, nine of them and banking won just over $ 308,000.
In the meantime, the Damtact of Tact McLeod Hayley Jane is difficult to get into foal.
“I have not succeeded in getting her in foal for the past two season. She is getting old (23). I can send her to Lord Forbes and get the self -service. I would like to get a different foal out of her and then retire.”
The stable songs from Proctors are currently light, but he is about to work on a sweet Lou Colt from Tact Maggie.
“I have two Bettor’s pleasure fillings that came back from markers after their first preparation. One from Tact Maggie and the other is out of tact Lizzie.”
