Three European countries are looking for a repayment of the Trump government for funds they have contributed to USAID projects that have not been spoken.
Government officials from Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands said that a combined $ US15 million ($ 24 million) that they have contributed to joint development work abroad, has been parked for months at the US Bureau for International Development.
The three countries, allies of the United States, provided the funds for USAID to spend on countries with a low income in a project called water and energy for food, or WE4F.
With the Republican Government and the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) by Elon Musk (Doge) that reduces the financing of USAID and most of its programs, the Europeans have requested a refund.
They have not received a response.

Allies have been left frustrated
Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands initially sent USAID -E -mails in which they asked for the money they had contributed to the accounts of the organization.
A lack of reaction let the three nations frustrated and they warned the US that they wanted to talk to media about their missing money.
“It is a concern for us, especially since we want our partner organizations to be compensated for the work they have put in the programs,” says Julia Lindholm, a spokesperson for the International Development Agency of the Swedish government.

In the e-mails from the government to the government it was made clear that other foreign governments had also given money to USAID for distribution, according to an official who was immediately familiar with the case that was not authorized to give public comments and spoke on condition of anonymity.
The US Department of Foreign Affairs and USAID did not immediately respond to questions asking how many foreign governments had money for joint development programs that were not spoken.
Neither comments on some contributions from allies who still had to be repaid in the USAID financing freezing and how much money that was in total.
Under a judicial order, the administration started to make up for about $ US2 billion that has been owed since the US President Donald Trump ordered a freezing of USAID and foreign help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the day of his inauguration.
What was the financing for?
Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands had collaborated with USAID on a project called Water and energy for foodOr We4f.
The project is a joint initiative from Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the European Union and USAID.
The aim of the project is to help farmers and others in poorer countries to develop innovative ways to grow more food without making an effort.
The American failure so far to pay or pay back the donations of allies, “6 million of the poorest and most vulnerable farmers in the world dependent on the technologies for their food production and food safety,” has added Mrs. Lindholm to an e -mail sent to the Associated Press.
She called the WE4F program “Extraordinary impactful”, with measurable benefits for farmers and others many times larger than the first goals of the program.
The Sweden development agency said it estimated that it had a total of $ US12 million, including $ US5.1 million for WE4F, sitting in USAID accounts.
The Norwegian Development Cooperation Agency confirmed that it had not received any information about the fate of a contribution of $ US1.4 million that it has delivered to We4f since the USAID began.
And the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it had contacted the American anxy office to ask how much of the $ US1.6 million had given it for We4f, still had to be paid by USAID and had to be repaid.
All three confirmed that there was no clarification of a representative of USAID or the US government.
The countries added that they collaborated with donor partners to “continue to perform the We4F program”.
