Suzlon’s S144 wind turbines register the lowest carbon footprint

Supplier of renewable energy solutions Suzlon on Tuesday said that his ‘Made in India’ wind turbine model, S144, regulated the lowest product cabbage footprint of 6.17 GCO per kilowatt hour of electricity.

This performance has been independently verified by Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS), a certification and test organization, according to a business statement.

“With the S144 we prove that clean energy from world class in India can be designed and built sustainably in India.

“Our next step is to go from the lowest carbon production to real circularity, to set up new benchmarks for the renewable energy industry,” said JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group.

Recently Tüv Süd Polen, a globally renowned 150-year-old certification and test organization, also verified S144 as a low-carbon footprint wind solution, added the explanation.

Suzlon has redesigned the turbine to lower the steel use by 2.5 times, with recycled steel and scrap, while 83.25 percent of the components are collected locally from Tier-1 Indian suppliers.

The use of low -carbon steel and renewable energy in production has drastically reduced emissions, it said.

In addition, Suzlon has been able to improve the life cycle of the product up to 25 years, delivering long -term performance and promoting the goals of the India’s clean energy consumption.
