Submissions are performed for the first major tournament of the 2025/26 season, the Sussex 4*, which is organized at the popular K2 location in Crawley.

There is now less than two weeks to go until the Deadline entry of 12 August, so make sure you get your submissions soon. The event is on the weekend of 13-14 September.

Already in the field is the recently crowned double European champion Lorestas Trumpa’s greenhouse from England, who wants to add the title of the veterans singles to the two gold medals he won in the European championships in Serbia.

Lorestas is also located in the men’s singles, where he is confronted with fierce competition from his son, Larry (depicted above with Lorestas), currently arranged 10 in England and a winner of the International and National title of England.

Sussex’s own very ranked local brothers and sisters Jack and Josh Bennett will have something to say about it – and will have high expectations to prevent the titles and £ 400 prize money from being offered.

There is also a family taste from further road, with the pitamber brothers from Bedfordshire, the Shah Brothers from Middlesex, the Kniep -Broers and Sisters Theo and Chloe from Berkshire, and father Cesar Ramirez Rioja and his sons Pablo and Victor from Hertfordshire all came in.

“We follow the format that Tabeltennis England uses for Grand Prix events,” said Dennis Hayden, the chairman of Sussex TTA. “It is a popular format and gives local players access to a high standard of competition; it has already attracted some of the younger players of Brighton TTC to test themselves in a senior tournament.”

The Sussex 4* offers a variety of events to meet all ages and levels, with a bound competition on Saturday. On Sunday, the men’s and women (open) singles each offered £ 400 prize money. There are also mixed limited singles and mixed veterans singles, plus popular U21 -Singles for men and women. See the import form for full details and conditions.

The K2 has excellent conveyor belts of the M25, by train from London and from Gatwick Airport, as well as a variety of accommodation options for those who want to enjoy competitive game for more than two days. It promises to be a fantastic weekend of competition for everyone, so make sure you don’t miss it!
