Federal Public Prosecutors accused a Minnesota-Man on Tuesday of threatening to attack and kill a federal judge after he reportedly had a manifesto of 236 pages printed and distributed How to kill a federal judge In a local library.
Robert Phillip Ivers, 72, previously convicted in 2019 for threatening to kill a federal judge, was arrested earlier this month in the Wayzata library after printing the document, which reportedly had a gun.
According to the complaint, IVERS showed the manifesto to library staff and handed them a flyer of three pages that promoted before they leave, according to a press release from the American law firm for the Minnesota district.
The Flyer described the document as a guide “designed to learn extremists about planning, training, hunting, stalking and killing everyone, including judges, their relatives, politicians and more!”
The flyer claimed that Ivers “was wrongly sued by a misled in the American big jury” and stated ominously that the “harsh reality is that judges will die.”
Public Prosecutors said that the manifesto was aimed at observed injustice through the judicial device and the desire of detailed Ivers for revenge. It is said that it included disturbing sketches, various writings and handwritten threats to kill judges, their children and pets.
He explicitly stated that he was planning to teach and write the fear: “If this book does not put your fear into your fear, then you are already 9 (sic) dead.”
During the investigation, the authorities discovered that a episcopal church in Minnetonka Ivers had reported to the police on 28 August for alleged “abnormal behavior” after he said he was planning to attend events in which children and state laws were involved.
Ivers was taken into police detention on the night of 3 September and during transport he claimed that he had a heart attack. He was briefly admitted to the hospital and then released later that night.
A search for the vehicle of Ivers unveiled further disturbing evidence, including 20 spiral copies of the manifesto, a replica fire weapon, a photo of the former pope marked with Crosshairs, a copy of the Anarchist cookbookFireworks, CO₂ cartridges with pellets and lists that appoint several federal judges, including those associated with the earlier legal affairs of Ivers, according to officers of Justice.
On September 5, the Wayzata Ivers police re -re -reinforced. During a subsequent interview he admitted to show his manifesto to library staff. When asked for law enforcement whether he believed that his book might have scared someone, Ivers shouted: “It was assumed!”
The earlier case of 2019 had threats against the American district judge Wilhelmina Wright and was chaired by the American district judge Robert Pratt.
During his initial court on September 9, Ivers was held in ordered pending a hearing planned for Friday.
His lawyer appointed by the court, Brett Kelley, was reportedly surprised by the new charges and noted that the manifesto had previously served as a government exhibition in previous proceedings and at that time had not led to charges.
“The government rightly did not charge him in connection with the book in both cases because it should not,” said Kelley, according to Reuters.
