Speaking to the media, Unnao rape survivor’s lawyer Mehmood Pracha said that while this should not be treated as a victory, it could be seen as a “temporary relief”. “She kept asking me whether she would be safe after the Delhi High Court order. At least now I can assure her that the Supreme Court has granted her temporary relief. The fight will continue,” he said.

The Supreme Court’s order on Monday (December 29, 2025) has not only given confidence to the survivor but also cheered up the protesters. Yogita Bhayan, founder of Pari, who protested along with the survivor, said the Supreme Court has restored her faith in the judiciary. “We had protested when the Congress government was in power and will continue to protest for its safety during the BJP rule. We are grateful that the Supreme Court has taken note of the dangers of the Delhi High Court order,” she said.

Meanwhile, Sengar’s daughter Ishita Sengar wrote to social media platform “When pressure and public frenzy begin to overshadow evidence and due process, what protection does an ordinary citizen really have?” she wrote in the post.
She further wrote that because the matter was in the public domain, the facts were not given their proper place. “Please let the law speak without fear. Please let evidence be examined without pressure. Please let the truth be treated as truth even if it is unpopular,” her post read.
