Supreme Court issues emergency order to temporarily block full SNAP food assistance payments

General information:

• Your full name,
• Address (city, state, zip code),
• Phone number,
• And an alternative telephone number (if available)

Obituary Specification:

• Name of deceased,
• Obituary text,
• A photo in a JPEG or PDF file is preferred, TIF and other files are accepted, we will contact you if there are any problems with the photo.
• Ad serving dates
• There is a discount for runs of more than one day, but must be scheduled on the first run date to apply.
• If a photo is used, it must be used for both days to benefit from the discount. Please contact us for more information.

Policy:

Verification of death:

To publish obituaries, the name and telephone number of the funeral home/cremation association are required. We must contact the funeral home/cremation company during business hours who are making the arrangements to verify the death. If the deceased’s body was donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program or a similar program, their phone number is required for verification.

Please allow plenty of time to contact them, especially during limited weekend hours.

A death certificate is also acceptable for this purpose, but only one of these two options is necessary.

Guestbook and external websites:

When posting an obituary in print and online, we may not refer to other media sources with a guestbook or an obituary posted elsewhere. Instead, we can post a funeral home website or a family email for contact; Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this matter.

Obituary Process:

Once your submission is complete, we will fax or email a proof for review before publishing in the newspaper. This proof will include the price and the days on which the notice will appear.

Check the evidence carefully. We must be notified of errors or changes before the notice appears in the Pioneer Press, based on daily deadlines.

After publication, we are not responsible for errors that may occur after the final proof.

Online:

You can report changes to an online obituary via the obituary desk. Call us if you have any further questions.

Payment procedure:

All obituaries prior to publication require pre-payment by the deadline indicated in our deadline schedule below. Please call 651-228-5263 with your payment details after you have received the proof and approved its contents.

Credit card: Payment is only accepted by phone due to PCI (Payment Card Industry) regulations.

EFT: Check by phone. Provide your routing number and account number.

Rates:

• The minimum amount is $162 for the first 12 lines.
• Each line after the first 12 costs €12.
• If the ad contains fewer than 12 lines, you will be charged the minimum rate of $162.
• Obituaries with more than 40 lines receive a discount of 7.5% per line.
• On a second run date, receive a 20% discount on both the first and second placement.
• Post three obituaries and the third posting is free.
• Each photo published costs $125 per day. For example, for 2 photos in the newspaper on 2 days, you will be charged 4 photos at $500.

Please adhere to deadlines to ensure your obituary is published on the day requested.

MEMORIAM (NON-EXCESSION) REQUEST

Unlike an obituary, Memoriam entries are memories of a loved one who has passed away. The rates for a memoriam differ from those for obituaries.
