The son of the NBA Shot-Blocking legend Manute Bol, Bol Bol spent the last two seasons with the suns and never burst into the full-time rotation. He played in a total of 79 games, on average 11.6 minutes and shot a nice 56.6 percent out of the field and 37.2 percent of deep. Despite his seductive mix of Dribbel game and playmakers at its size and length, BOL had on average only 1.8 assists and 1.6 turnover per 36 minutes, hardly a winning combination.
Defensively he was too thin, too uncoordinated and too out of position to be a difference maker. 7’3 “With a huge wingspan you buy a good starting point, but it never capitalized it and was a net negative each of the last two seasons.
It seems that after six years that the seductive potential has been postponed too long and the sunbathing does not bring back to the team.
The suns have quietly said goodbye to Bol Bol
The make -over from the Suns brought in a number of new faces. This included the Kaman Maluach project center and the actions for Forward Rasheer Fleming to restart a young foundation in the desert. If the suns devote resources to young Bigs who realize their potential, they will do this with Maluach and Fleming, not bulky.
However, Nigel Hayes-Davis signed the nail in the coffin for a deal. If they were to use a grid place at another attacker as Bol, they would probably not have brought the Boomerang NBA veteran that returned to the competition at the age of 31.
There is no need for the bulb on the grid of the Suns, and although they run more in the direction of a long -term view, such a view no longer includes bulb. Not when his potential was not recreated for six NBA seasons, and when their own coaching staff was unable to drill it in a meaningful way in two seasons. If it happened somewhere, and specifically in Phoenix, it would almost certainly be.
Maybe another team will put Bol into the camp. Maybe he enjoys the G competition, or he goes abroad. Perhaps the thoughtful young man enters a new career. What seems to be clear is that his time on the sun is over. Fans and Shaq – must find a new player to pin their excitement and hopes.
