Jungle Entertainment comedy featuring Americans running a spray tan business in Sydney is selling to Hulu.
Comedy crime series Sunny nightsproduced by Jungle Entertainment and Echo Lake Entertainment for Stan, has been sold to Hulu in the US.
The series follows strict American Martin Marvin (Will Forte), who sets up a spray tan business in Sydney with his loose cannon sister Vicki (D’Arcy Carden). As the siblings attempt to transform their business from a start-up operating out of a van to a multi-million dollar empire, they become entangled in Sydney’s criminal underworld and must figure out how to stay alive, out of jail and in the black.
The supporting cast includes Rachel House, Jessica De Gouw, Miritana Hughes, Ra Chapman, Megan Wilding and a special appearance by Patrick Brammall.
Filmed in Sydney, Sunny nights was directed and executive produced by Trent O’Donnell (Hacks, Colin from Accounts, no activity) and created and written by Nick Keetch and Ty Freer, with writers Marieke Hardy, Lally Katz, Clare Sladden and Niki Aken. Stan’s executive producers are Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie.
The series has already been picked up by international broadcasters including ITV (UK), Bell Media for its English and French services in Canada, Pro-Sieben (Germany), Canal+ (Netherlands), TVNZ (New Zealand), TG4 (Ireland) and Yes (Israel). Cineflix Rights brokered the sale to Hulu.
