Whether you’re in serious trouble for missing the playoffs or have already reserved your spot, there’s never a bad reason to improve your team for this week and into the future. That’s why every week I bring you an article where I answer two simple questions: who should I stream this week and who should I save for the future?
To keep things simple, we’ll define a streamer as any player you wouldn’t normally pick up and who is a viable option this week. They may be on your bench or they may be on waivers depending on your league. We’ll define a stash as any player you can potentially find on waivers that you should save for the future, either because there’s a favorable matchup ahead or because they could become a future fantasy starter.

QB streamers:
Joe Flacco (CIN): The Steelers are a Top 10 quarterback matchup and Joe Flacco is the QB1 per game over the last five weeks. That’s right, a 40-year-old playing for a 3-6 team is the best fantasy quarterback of the last half of the season. Crazy. I know Joe Burrow will probably be back in two weeks, but until then I’ll start with Flacco at every opportunity.
JJ McCarthy (MIN): For the third week in a row, JJ McCarthy is on my list. He was ranked in the Top 14 the last two weeks, so I feel good about his success rate, especially since this Bears game will be his easiest matchup yet. If you’re struggling this week at QB or without Daniel Jones, McCarthy is a great filler.
QB Save:
Aaron Rodgers (PIT): Bo Nix, Justin Herbert and Marcus Mariota are among those parting ways next week. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers takes on the Bears’ struggling defense. He’s also a good streamer this week against the awful Bengals, where Vegas projects them as the second-highest scoring team.
RB streamers:
Aaron Jones (MIN): I called it last week and I’ll do it again. Aaron Jones will get most of the snaps in Minnesota and is off to a strong start in what should be a high-scoring outing against the Bears.
Woody Marks (HOU): The Titans are terrible against the run and rookie Woody Marks was the dominant back against the Jaguars last week. If he keeps this up, he’ll turn into a must-start player.
Sean Tucker (TB): The Buccaneers split early-down carries almost 50-50 between Rachaad White and Sean Tucker, with Tucker seeing slightly more success. He’s a liability given his lack of work, but in one of the league’s easiest, rushing games, I’m willing to start Tucker if you have byes or injury issues.
RB repositories:
Trey Benson (ARI): Trey Benson is available in almost half the leagues and should be back in a week or two. It’s a must-have no matter the size of your league.
Running Backs get injured more often than any other player in fantasy, with the average Top 36 running back in fantasy missing two games per season. For that reason, the best bet in fantasy is to use running backs who are one injury away from a down role. Each week I’ll list my favorite RB stocks, including the players you won’t get to play with most weeks.
Top Handcuffs: Blake Corum, Brian Robinson, RJ Harvey, Isaiah Davis, Emanuel Wilson, Bhayshul Tuten, Tank Bigsby, Ollie Gordon, Ameer Abdullah, Keaton Mitchell, Raheem Mostert, Devin Neal
WR streamers:
Tre Tucker (LV): Tre Tucker is the WR29 of the season thanks to a tremendous Week 3 and beyond mediocrity. But he’s coming off a month of tough games by taking on the Cowboys this weekend. They are the easiest wide receiver matchup by a mile. With Jakobi Meyers out of town, Tucker has a real chance to score some serious points (although his minimum is also low). And Tyler Lockett is also more of a low-end flex option if you need someone who is more likely to be available.
Christian Watson (GB): The Packers are having crazy injury luck in WR land, making Christian Watson the possible WR1 in a plus game against the Giants. If Romeo Doubs is out, Watson is a solid stream for me. If Doubs plays, Watson is more of a desperation option.
Mack Hollins (NE): Which Patriots WR played the most snaps last week? Stefon Diggs? No. Demario Douglas? Gosh no, he didn’t even play a quarter. It was Mack Hollins a mile away. And he changed it to over 100 yards. He’s the guy I’ll make a run with in leagues where I’m really desperate for a healthy receiver.
WR repositories:
Jayden Higgins (HOU): The Texans are finally getting younger, with rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel taking some decent eleven personnel snaps from Xavier Hutchinson and Christian Kirk, respectively, in Week 10. Higgins is the man with the upside, though, and is definitely worth putting into fantasy.
TE streamers:
Cade Oton (TB): I said it last week and I’ll say it again; starts Cade Oton as the Buccaneers struggle with wide receiver injuries. He is coming off a 12-goal game and has averaged over 60 yards per game over the last six weeks. Yes, the Bills are the toughest tight end matchup in the league. But I still use Oton.
Theo Johnson (NYG): Fine, I’ll do it, I agree. I’m starting Theo Johnson in a solid tight end matchup against the Packers. He has posted double-digit PPR points in five of his last seven games and is playing an impressively high number of snaps for a tight end. With so little certainty about its position, it is a great low-end stream.
TE storage:
Brenton Strange (JAC): There is talk of Brenton Strange coming from IR. Now Brian Thomas Jr. is injured and Travis Hunter is out for the season, Strange could be very busy down the stretch for Jacksonville.
K streamers:
Tyler Loop (BAL): The Ravens score a lot of points and make a lot of field goals. So Tyler Loop starts this week in a top-half kicker matchup.
Andy Borregales (NE): The Patriots also score a lot of points and get the best kicker matchup in the league with the Jets. Andy Borregales is an average kicker, but here opportunity wins over talent.
Daylight Savings Streamers:
Texans DST (HOU): This is obvious. The Titans are terrible and the Texans are elite. Houston Daylight Saving Time is a must for starters.
Falcons DST (ATL): This is risky, but the Panthers have been poor lately, giving the Falcons a chance to make up for their mediocre effort in Carolina earlier this season.
Note: I will not be listing kicker or DST stocks. You should never bench kickers or DSTs in redraft leagues. There are virtually no exceptions. Please don’t do it.
