Steve Holland has played a crucial role in Manchester United’s miraculous turnaround – Man United News And Transfer News | The People’s Person

Michael Carrick has breathed new life into Manchester United, who secured a convincing 3-2 win over Arsenal.

The Premier League leaders ran out of ideas against Carrick’s tricky Reds and ultimately had no choice but to rely on their set-pieces to trouble the visitors. Arsenal just created 0.39(xG) of open play in their home.

United, meanwhile, played to the fore and Carrick’s brave introduction of Matheus Cunha secured all three points for the Red Devils. The Brazilian scored a fine effort from the edge of the penalty area to seal back-to-back Premier League wins for his side.

The arrival of Steve Holland has helped Michael Carrick enormously

Manchester United’s phenomenal performances against Manchester City and Arsenal have quickly skyrocketed Michael Carrick’s reputation.

However, another tactical mastermind has played a major role in United’s turnaround.

According to SullyTalkz by Center DevilsSteve Holland, Carrick’s number two, has made a huge difference behind the scenes at Carrington.

The United insider wrote: “Not many people will know this man’s work [Holland] has played a behind-the-scenes role alongside Carrick.

“Crucial for all the work you have seen on the pitch so far. Whether in training or in the analyst room, Holland has been crucial. Credit must be given.”

The 55-year-old coach previously assisted former England manager Gareth Southgate. Before joining the Three Lions, Holland worked at Chelsea, where he worked with Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

Roy Keane still needs to be convinced by Michael Carrick

Despite the brilliance of the Netherlands, all attention is focused on Carrick, and rightly so. He has now beaten Pep Guardiola, Arteta (twice), Unai Emery and Thomas Tuchel in his five games in charge of the Mancunians.

After the whistle at the Emirates, Roy Keane praised United’s approach and mentality which helped seal a comeback win over Arsenal.

Furthermore, the former United midfielder was quizzed on whether INEOS should consider Carrick for the regular role. However, Keane insisted the interim boss has not done enough to be among the candidates for the job.

“Even if they finish fourth, I still wouldn’t be convinced he’s the man for the job. Absolutely not,” Keane told Sky Sports.
