Steve Erceg defended an early storm and achieved a big win over Ode Osbourne in the UFC Vegas 109 Co-Main event on Saturday evening.
The speed of Osbourne turned out to be a problem for ERCEG. That became very clear near the half point of the open round when ‘the Jamaican sensation’ landed a lightning -fast right hook that Erceg forced a knee to take a knee at the fence. Obourne smelled blood in the water and turned up the heat, looking for an early finish.
ERCEG survived the attack and took Obsourne’s back during a scramble, but the one-off title finer was satisfied to just keep up and return to his stool.
Erceg did much better in the second Stanza, shoot for multiple Takedown attempts as a means to ease the explosive violation of Obourne.
Astroboy ‘finally got his first Takedown near the half point of the third and settled in Osbourne’s Half Guard. It didn’t take long, Erceg moved to the entire mountain, which gives Osbourne his back in defense. Erceg softened his opponent with some soil and pounds and almost cinched in a coded choke in the last seconds of the fight, but the inhabitant of Kingston finally survived the attack and sent us to the Scorecards.

Official result: Steve Erceg Def. Ode Osbourne via a unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
