State is considering full revision of education system to meet international standards

The state government has decided to go for a revision of the education system that brings in extensive changes through a new education policy in the coming days.

The new policy is designed to ensure that it contributes to improving the employability of young people and in turn, for poverty alleviation, Minister -President A. Revanth Reddy said during an assessment meeting in the secretariat on Wednesday. He also sought feedback and suggestions from experts and people in the field for the formulation of the new education policy.

He regretted that the current education system had various shortcomings in the sense that people who had knowledge, skill in language and those who had knowledge of language missed the subject. Those who are in possession of the language and knowledge were missing the required skills. The new education policy must therefore be aimed at these three aspects that young people make.

Governments were more likely to spread countries and funds for poverty alleviation, but in the current situation where there was a shortage in countries and funds, education was the only solution to guarantee poverty reduction. The mixed economy of the past had various restrictions on employment, but the liberalized economy had opened the banners sector, both in domestic and international fronts. However, young people were unable to take advantage of the opportunities, because the current educational standards did not meet the expectations of the industry.

The minister President remembered that the setting up of technical colleges resulted in enormous employment in the software sector. But only 10% of students who graduate at these colleges were able to guarantee a job due to the absence of skills. This necessary needed the need for reforming the education sector and filling the youth so that they could take advantage of the opportunities.

He regretted that although the government assigns enormous funds to the education sector every year, the number of students in the schools run by the State decreased because parents prefer private institutions. “Education at private schools starts at kindergarten and LKG, while it will start with the first standard at government schools. As a result, students who come to the complainants at private schools do not come to the government schools,” he said. Moreover, parents were also willing to join their children with private institutions because of the care they took to the students.

The new education policy must create trust among parents accordingly that their children in the government institutions would be adequately provided.

He remembered that universities Osmania and Kakatiya played a key role in shaping the career of students in the past. However, the existing system did not correspond to the requirements of international standards that were introduced after opening the economy.

More than 1.1 Lakh -engineering students graduated every year and only 15% of them could secure jobs. The role of the government in the education sector was a decrease, as evidenced by the fact that 98% of the budgetary allocation of £ 21,000 was spent on staff salaries.

The need for the need for a complete change in the system for complying with the emerging requirements, he sought suggestions from experts in the field of new policy aimed at offering an insured future to 75 Lakh Youth. In the process, efforts must be made to ensure that the telangana education policy would become a role mode for the country.

The main minister admitted that there were problems in the school education system with 34 LAKH students who studied in 11,000 private schools and another 18 LAKH at 27,000 government schools. The government had decided accordingly to start total changes in the system of standards I to XII. The central government was asked to release the loans that are mobilized for improving and strengthening the education sector from the purpose of the FRBM standards. “I am willing to take on political challenges if the new policy benefits students and society,” he said.
