Jimmy Kimmel returned to a standing ovation when the ABC network of Disney brought him back to the American air waves.
“Anyway, as I said before I was interrupted,” he started. “If you just come to us, we regularly have planned Encore episode of your planned Encore episode Celebrity Family Feud To bring you this special report. I’m happy to be here tonight. “
He thanked Steven Colbert, Jon Stewart, Seth Myers, Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver, Conan O’Brien, James Cordon, Arsenio Hall, Kathy Griffin, Wanda Sykes, Chelsea Handler, Jay Leno.
“I feel honored to be part of a group of people who know what a show like this is doing. And I want to thank you all thanks to who has supported our show, ensures enough to do something about it, to make your voices heard so that mine can be heard. I will never forget it.
“It has been overwhelming. I have heard from many people for the past six days. I have heard of all the people in the world for the past six days.
“And maybe weird, perhaps mostly, I want to thank the people who do not support my show and what I believe, but support my right to share those beliefs.”
He also spoke to the controversy who saw him suspended when he explained: “You understand that it was never my intention to make the murder of a young man light. I don’t think there is something funny about it.”
It was not “my intention to blame a specific group for the actions what – it was clearly a deeply disturbed individual,” he said. “That was really in the opposite of the point that I tried to make, but I understand that for some who felt poorly timed or unclear, or perhaps both. And for those who think I have focused a finger, I get why you are upset. If the situation was reversed, there is a good chance that I felt the same thing.”
He said to say that his show “is not important.”
“What is important is that we can live in a country with which we can have a show like this.”
Kimmel also thanked Disney for the welcome of him in the air and said that the decision “wrongly endangers them”.
“The president of the United States has made it very clear that he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here discharged from our jobs. Our leader celebrates Americans who lose their means of existence because he cannot joke,” said Kimmel.
“He was able to press jacket from CBS, then he pointed his sights on me, and now he openly rooted NBC to fire Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers and the hundreds of Americans who work for their shows that do not earn millions of dollars,” he added. “And I hope that if that happens, or if even a hint of that happens, you will be 10 times as hard as you were this week.”
