NHL Rumors: St. Louis Blues and the Utah Mammoth
Anthony Stewart: “Rumor has it that between the Blues Rangers and the Canucks all the teams are ‘sellers’ at the deadline. Which of those three do you see as the most active.”
Dave Pagnotta: “St. Louis would have loved to be there already, but they just haven’t been able to make those bigger deals work. But St. Louis is certainly at the top. And the Rangers, besides Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck, are listening to other guys. They’ve obviously got Carson Soucy moving. Braden Schneider has generated interest. I reported it last week. San Jose is one of the teams that likes him there. You’ve got other pieces there.”
St. Louis, almost, you name it, they’re listening further. I think Justin Faulk is generating, and has generated a little more attention after the (Rasmus) Andersson trade. I don’t know if Boston is turning in that direction because they were there to get Andersson. Could it be Dallas? Because they’re still looking at the right side. It seems like every year they think it’s to bring someone in for that good side. So we can definitely see that.
NHL Rumors: Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings
And then of course Vancouver, yes, the Canucks. We know all about the Evander Kane lecture this week. It’s real, and I’ve reported that they are willing to keep his salary, but at the same time are looking for an asset to return in the form of a prospect or a draft pick. So we’ll see how they navigate those waters. but they also insist on all their other guys.
Conor Garland, who has a no-trade clause, will take action on July 1. Jake DeBrusk, who is in the middle of his contract, currently has a no-trade, no-movement clause. Drew O’Connor has been given another one-year contract. Teddy Blueger too, out there, and so on and so forth. And of course. Elias Pettersson, it certainly seems like some of the guys they don’t have move clauses with might not be eligible at this point.
Tyler Myers, Marcus Pettersson and Filip Hronek. I don’t expect to be moved and Brock Boeser will be up front. But it seems they will explore just about anyone if the right offer comes along.ā
