The San Antonio Spurs have no plans to move Stephon Castle despite occasional trade talk, sources told Brian Windhorst on The Ryen Russillo Show. The 21-year-old guard has been highly valued by the organization since his arrival, with the front office seeing him as a perfect complement to Victor Wembanyama.

Castle has put up strong numbers this season, averaging 18.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists in 31.2 minutes per game across 16 appearances. His versatility and court vision have helped Spurs maintain a balanced attack alongside their big man.

Windhorst highlighted Spurs’ admiration for Castle’s competitiveness and work ethic. “They love everything about the way he competes. They love everything about his willingness to improve,” he said via HoopsHypenoting that the team sees him as an integral part of their long-term plans.

San Antonio currently has an 18-7 record, led by Wembanyama’s 25.8 points and 12.6 rebounds per game and De’Aaron Fox’s 23.9 points and 6.2 assists. Castle’s game play was critical.

The guard is in the second year of his four-year, $41 million rookie deal and has steadily improved his efficiency.

While other franchises may see Castle as a marketable talent, the Spurs front office is prioritizing stability and cohesion, especially around Wembanyama. League executives agree that unless an extraordinary offer materializes, Castle is untouchable in San Antonio’s plans.

Spurs have built their squad around a core of youth and high-character players, with Castle’s presence seen as key to their championship bid.
