The Skechers World Champions Cup is a team event on the PGA TOUR Champions schedule.
The first tournament was held in 2023. It was canceled for 2024.
The Skechers World Champions Cup features three teams (Team International, Team Europe and Team USA) with 24 nine-hole competitions featuring team and singles competitions.
The first three days of the tournament consist of nine-hole Six Ball and Scotch Sixsomes team events. The final day consists of nine holes of singles matches.
In Six Ball (Best Ball), each player uses their own ball for the entire hole, with each team’s lowest score used. In Scotch Sixsomes (Alternate Shot), each player hits a tee shot and the team selects a player to play with. From there, the alternate shot continues, with the player whose tee shot was not chosen taking the second shot.
The format and score:
- All nine holes of the competition are played in each group. No nine-hole competition has close-outs.
- A total of three points will be awarded on each hole of each nine-hole group during the team competition on Thursday and Friday, as well as for the singles groups on Sunday morning and afternoon.
- The team with the lowest score on each hole receives two points. The team with the second lowest score on a hole receives one point. The team with the highest score receives no points.
- When teams finish with the same score on a hole, these teams receive the same number of points.
- If two teams finish with the lowest score on a hole, each team receives one and a half points. The third team that finishes with the highest score receives no points.
- If one team finishes with the lowest score on a hole and the other two finish with the same (higher) score, the team with the lowest score receives two points, while the other two teams receive half a point.
- If all three teams finish with the same score on a hole, each team receives one point.
- For singles, each player from each team plays in both the morning and afternoon sessions, and each group uses the same scoring format as above.
