If you are looking for a flashy, muted running shoe that will go, the new Skechers Aero Burst is a super fun ride for long miles. The Aero Burst is part of the latest Aero Running Shoe series from Skechers, and it is a great daily trainer for runners who prioritize comfort and kisses in their training sessions.
The Aero Burst is a max cushion, High Stack Height trainer designed for simple, long miles, recovery runs and many training sessions in between. The shoe is comfortable, plush and lots of fun – not to mention it is also a clear statement shoe that stands out with its funky design.
In the few weeks that I had the Aero burst, I removed this shoe for a few 4-6 miles of easy runs, a longer 10 miles run and even speed training to see how they perform in different training sessions. I tried this shoe on the road and on the treadmill and discovered that it kept well in both environments, especially on longer, easier kilometers.
As always, we are here to give you the pros, disadvantages and our honest assessment of this shoe. There is no running shoe that will work best for every runner! The goal of our reviews is only to help you decide whether this shoe is a good one that you can try.
- Wide feet: TOEBOX feels a bit smarter and certainly not wide through the midfoot.
- Heavier runners: Perfect option for pillow and support.
- Long runs: Absolute! The maximum pillow in this shoe is designed for longer runs.
- Front of the package: Although this Max shoe does not stop you, it is not intended for the pace of the sub 8 minutes.
An affordable carbon-collected option for the middle and back of the runners to get a great pillow and little extra jump in their step.
Skechers Aero Burst overview
The Skechers Aero Burst is a great way for them to come back to the running scene and really say: “We are here and we do something else.”
This shoe was a nice surprise for me, because so far I have not tried Skechers as a running shoe option. Coach Amanda has long talked about earlier models such as the Maxroad who is shockingly good shoes and we are all enthusiastic to make everyone think of this brand again.
If you are as I am and have never tried Skechers to run before, the Aero Burst will participate in a line -up of new running shoes as part of the Aero series, including the Aero Tempo and the Aero Spark next to the Aero Burst.
Of the new line -up, the Aero Burst stands out as the highest stack height of the brand, Max Cushioned Shoe. This shoe is made to take the kilometers with raised damping, a foam midsole and removable arch support that all maximize comfort while you still feel light and fresh on your feet.
This shoe just comes out of the box. Skechers designed these shoes with bright colors and a fresh, wavy outsole that looks funky and energetic on first impressions. I was surprised that although these shoes are maximalistic in design, they do not feel heavy or too close in your hand or on foot.
The Aero Burst is equipped with the Skechers Hyper Burst ICE ™ person. This midsole is a foam with double density, which means that it is extra soft, but still offers stability without sinking in the foam.
Despite the fact that it is a maximum muted shoe, it really feels responsive and has a considerable amount of energy efficiency (hello carbon plate). The foam damping makes the shoe comfortable and plush, but it also supports a large rebound in the aim, so that you can pick up the pace without feeling awkward or weighted through the shoe.
Sketchers also include a carbon-rousing H-plate in this shoe, which makes it a bit standing out of other maximum muted shoes on the market (minus say the Hoka Skyward X). This is increasingly common with super trainers, with which this shoe is cleared but is not really as fast as most others.
It is not a complete carbon plate as you may see for the super shoes package, but this board is an H-shaped piece in the midsole that adds some subtle energy return and firmness to the midsole when you pick up the pace.Beyond the midsole, this shoe also has something that I really enjoyed – a sturdy rubber outsole made by Goodyear (yes, like the tires!) That offers some solid grip to run on the road on the road on the road. I discovered that the handle helped the shoe to feel more connected to the road and gave me a great traction when I was running during a rain shower.
The Goodyear Outsole on the Aero Burst has a tread pattern that holds on the road, and it feels durable and sturdy. This outsole is definitely a great addition to this shoe, because it looks like it will protect that soft foam in mid -sole over many kilometers without the shoe breaking down quickly.Coach Amanda: I am the first to admit that I was shocked when I liked Skecher’s running shoes a few years ago and was very excited to see them launch again. I have put miles in both the Burst and the spark to see what this new line -up has to offer.
I don’t know we should do that Always run in carbon poisoned shoes. But I think it’s great that these are not aimed at the front of the peloton, but instead on the daily runner.
My runs in it felt fantastic and I intend to keep them in rotation.
Aero Burst specifications
From a design perspective, this shoe feels like a statement. The Colorways are lively and fun, and the wavy foam design of the sole distinguishes itself from other shoes on the market. The design of the shoe feels like it is channeling the high energy shooters that these soles have designed for output!
Skechers offers the shoe in 4 colorways for women and 4 colorways for men. I am psyched to start the summer in the clear white and yellow colorway with his neon red sole!
Skechers Aero Burst Fit
The Skechers Aero Burst fit True to Size for me and felt like the right length for my foot of the first wear.
The heel collar and tongue of this shoe are very plush. Neither of them feels extensive with wear, and they help the shoe fit more well without rubbing or making hotspots. The lace system on the Burst is fairly standard, so that your midfoot remains safe and gives you flexibility to play with the laces to meet your personal needs.
The midfoot of the shoe felt just a bit cozy, while the heel felt a bit loose, so I had to adjust the lace a bit to make the shoe fit just right. I would probably not recommend this shoe for someone with a wider midfoot, because that area feels much too narrow on this shoe.
The mesh above work of the Aero -Burst is breathable, flexible and lightweight. I discovered that it felt safe through the foot without limiting the movement, and the mesh made it so that the upper felt very breathable, even on some of the hotter days I have walked in lately.
Skechers Aero Burst Feel
When I tried this for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the shoes have built -in arched support in the removable Archfit Insole. If someone with high, flexible arches, this was an added bonus to feel the relief on my arches when I pushed the eruptions to!
The shoe in general is designed to be extremely comfortable, and I discovered that they didn’t long for long to break in and form at my feet. They feel soft and plush from the moment I moved them. For how extensive the shoe looks out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised how light they actually felt at my feet.
The soft and soft feeling of these shoes makes them a great option for longer, easier runs. Although I did not find the best option for my speed training or up-tempo runs, the carbon-decked H-plate and the lightweight of the shoe took good care of pickups and steps during my longer runs.
Although I liked this for longer, easier runs, I did not feel that these shoes felt awkward when I tested them for speed. The lightweight foam and the added bouncing of the carbon, soaked midsole, kept these shoes smoothly during my faster training sessions.
That said, I still think these shoes are best on simple runs and higher kilometers.
Skechers Aero Burst vs. Aero Spark
While Skechers released the Aero Burst, they also released full aerosions of running shoes, including the Aero Spark, which we also had to try to judge for you. While the shoes both have the
The Aero Spark Is also a daily trainer from this line-up, but that shoe has a carbon H-plate on the forefoot for a snappier, faster ride than the Aero burst. This shoe feels lighter from the box than the burst, and it is generally lighter at 7.8 oz.
Both shoes are equipped with the Hyper Burst ICE ™ middle sole and a carbon-drunk H-plate.
In contrast to the Aero burst, the Aero Spark is a stacking height of 36 mm versus the 42 mm stack height of the Aero Burst. And although the Aero Spark is also best as a daily trainer, it is better suited for faster, shorter training sessions than the Aero burst with its lighter, more minimal design.
Because of this, the Aero Spark certainly feels less plush and gentle than the Aero -Burst, so if you are looking for comfort about versatility, the Aero Burst is probably a better option for you.
Both shoes are very fun and make a great combination for your weekly training sessions when they are recorded together for your different runs. I discovered that the Aero -Burst was the best for my long, easy days and my recovery days, where the Aero Spark had just enough Pep that it could bring me through interval training and lighter, faster miles with some more variation as a trainer.

If you look up all the mid -terty side of the runners on a maximum muted shoe with a carbon plate for that extra pep on the racing day, we are happy that we have an affordable option to recommend! It is a super fun ride in a crazy nice package.
