If SiriusXM kept calling you after you asked them to stop (or called you despite being on the Do Not Call list), you might be owed money from a $28 million settlement. But you must take action before March 21.
What happened
A class action lawsuit (Campbell et al. v. Sirius XM Radio Inc., Case No. 2:22-cv-2261-CSB-EIL) alleged that SiriusXM violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and federal telemarketing laws by making cold calls to people who were registered on the National Do Not Call Registry or who had asked SiriusXM to stop calling.
According to the details of the settlementThese weren’t one-off phone calls; the lawsuit focused on a pattern of repeated phone calls to people who had clearly said “no.”
SiriusXM denies any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $28 million to settle the claims.

What is the TCPA?
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) is a federal law that restricts telemarketing calls and the use of automated dialing systems. Under the TCPA:
- Companies cannot call numbers from the National Do Not Call Register
- Companies must maintain their own internal do-not-call lists
- Violations may carry penalties of $500 to $1,500 per call
This is why TCPA settlements can be so large: even a few illegal calls to thousands of people add up quickly.
