Today I had an interesting warming in Mallorca. There was a registration sheet for practice lanes in the Na Taconara Tennis facility just on the road of the Beach Club Font de Sa Cala, so I booked a 9 -hour court there. I grabbed Patricia Zerdan in Cala Rajada and we arrived on time (despite schools that close different roads around 9 am). The person who manned the tournament park after Taconara immediately told me that there were no practice lanes (keep in mind that each slot on the practice sheet was filled until around 3 p.m.).
We left (hard to argue in German for us … I should have taken a picture of the practice sheet I normally do) and went to Tennis Aguait about 7 minutes away, and a court could book (for of course). The court was in a rather rough state, because the lines were raised too much, especially on my side. It was great to warm up and to cross and even to serve and to return … But then we started a short rally and I forgot the line … Stumbled on my face on my face … I literally took it on the chin “. I think I hunted Patricia half dead, but it was one of my best torits!). When I got home and took a few advice and was good … not even scratches.
I played my singles at 1:30 against Reinhilde Adams, one of my German club teammates. I played well and did not make too many mistakes, in winning 60 60. I play Pauline Fisher who has only dropped two games on the way to the final of the singles (and about the same in double). We will play tomorrow at 10.30 am … and I warm up tomorrow in the Beach Club! Pauline today beat one of my German club teammates, Dagy Sperndeder.
We had a day off in double, but play against Andrea Schmidt and Dr. tomorrow at 3 p.m. Ulrike, from Germany. They beat the top seeds in the first round.
Below are the W70 Doubles finalists (who will be confronted with Pauline and Shirley Fox tomorrow); The player on the right was also my second round singles opponent.

Dan Waldman continues to roll in the 70s of the gentlemen and defeated Alan Rasmussen today; Max King/Everett Darnielle is in the 65 Doubles final (Darnielle defeated the 9th seed in 65 singles before losing against the 5th seed); Danny Shaw is of the men with Keith Porter (Can) in the 70s. They defeated the #2 seeds, Alan Rasmussen/Frits Raijmakers by Walkover … (Frits played singles against an wounded Martin Cornish (pulled a muscle in Feld am See) and pulled his calf run. A short ball … just before Cornish might pull the ripcord. This is tennis.); Ann Stanley (US)/Andrew Stanley (GBR) will be in the 70 mixed final tomorrow. Addendum: Bruce Barrett is in the 75S Doubles Final. I think that’s about Americans who are still playing in Font de Sa Cala this week.
