Hull City Left-Back Ryan Giles has said He is ready to fight for his place in the MKM stadium in the midst of ‘interest’ from elsewhere.
Hull City borrowed the left back to Middlesbrough in January. HCAFC had him return to his former club on a temporary basis.
Giles, 25, was in and out of the Boro team and has trouble making an impact. He made 12 gigs led by Michael Carrick when they Championship Play-offs.
He shared this update about his future, according to Hullive: “Unless I was told differently, I am here for the fight, and it’s that simple for me. I have to do the company on the field, of course I have that. I do not consider it a matter of course and I expect that someone else will probably arrive at that location with me. I think the competition for places is important.
“In the end we have to get the best out of ourselves. It’s great that I feel that I have already felt that belief of him. It’s only a few weeks ago, I am only two weeks, but I feel good. I feel confidence, and I think that assist (against stockport) will also give me that confidence.”
He added: “I just have to get my head down, not get too entangled in all the noise outside, and that is the biggest thing for me this year. I don’t get too entangled in it. As I say, my message to everyone is that I am here for the fight unless I am telling otherwise. I am trying to make my Hull City career work.”
Hull City Last about Ryan Giles
Hull City must make a big decision about the future of Giles in the coming weeks, especially if an offer arrives for him. HCAFC landed him on loan in January 2024 before his move was later made permanently.
However, his switch to the Tigers is not yet planned. He played 35 games for the East Yorkshire outfit.

Giles stood up by the ranks at Wolves and once played for their first team. He was lent to Shrewsbury Town, Coventry City, Rotherham United, Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers.
Middlesbrough had him in 2022 and he was a hit during his first enchantment there before Luton Town broke him up. However, his return did not work.

Hull City is preparing for life under new manager Sergej Jakirovic, who has joined Kayserispor with them. HCAFC decided last month to dismiss Ruben and he has since gone to Sheffield United.
In the last term, they remained on target difference after their 1-1 draw in Portsmouth. Plymouth Argyle, Cardiff City and Luton Town slipped instead in League One.
Time will learn whether Giles will stay with the tigers or leaves before the deadline on Monday 1 September. They are back in pre-season friendly action on Tuesday against Sunderland before playing Getafe on Saturday after their recent victory over Stockport County.
