A bombshell report has emerged revealing the severity of the injury suffered by India National Cricket Team ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer during the third and final match of the series against Australia National Cricket Team.
The report revealed that Shreyas Iyer’s gruesome on-field injury was actually life-threatening, and timely intervention by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team saved his life.

While fielding at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Shreyas Iyer was injured in a collision after taking a catch while running backwards from point to dismiss wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey.
Notably, Iyer was in extreme pain after sustaining the injury, and he immediately grabbed his ribcage and signaled for medical attention. The physio came running to the ground and took Shreyas Iyer off the field.

The journalist also further revealed that Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala stated that the first 48 hours would be very crucial for Iyer, and that one doctor, Dr. Rizwan, was given the duty of providing the India star’s medical update to his family twice a day.
“In the second point, Pardiwala has written that the ‘first 24 hours are critical and fortunately everything is good for the time being’.
