Shares of RVNL down 3%, while PAT down 20% YoY for Q2FY26

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) fell 3.13% in early trade to hit a low of Rs 307.75 on the BSE on Wednesday, November 12, after the company reported a 19.7% year-on-year (YoY) decline in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the second quarter of FY26. PAT stood at Rs 230 crore in Q2FY26, compared to Rs 287 crore reported in the same period last year.On the other hand, RVNL recorded revenue growth in the quarter. The company posted total revenue of Rs 5,123 crore in the September quarter, reflecting an increase of 5.5% from Rs 4,855 crore in Q2FY25.

EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 217 crore, down 20.1% from Rs 271 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

EBITDA margin also contracted by 140 basis points (bps) to stand at 4.2% for Q2FY26, down from 5.6% in Q2FY25.

RVNL shares have witnessed a steady decline over multiple time frames.

Over the past year it has fallen 27.22%, while the year-to-date (YTD) performance shows a decline of 25.74%, indicating continued downward pressure. Over the past six months, the stock is down 1.81%, and over the past three months, it is down even further by 7.25%. One-month performance also remains weak, down 7.15%, reflecting continued bearish sentiment.

On Tuesday, shares of RVNL closed flat at Rs 317.70 on the BSE.
