Shardul Thakur, Nitish Reddy Struggle, Shubman Gill has to opt for extra batter? – Inside Sport India

Shubman Gill inherits a direction in transition and there are a few gaping holes that India’s new test captain has to fill in the India vs England series. Gill and coach Gautam Gambhir have been left tightly about the team combination, and a big talk point is two weeks before the IND vs Eng 1e test. It is expected that one of Shardul Thakur or Nitish Reddy functions such as the Bowling Allrounder Tempo, but their form is a reason for concern for Shubman Gill.

How did Shardul Thakur and Nitish Reddy done the games in India?

Shubman Gill can also opt for an extra batter. The presence of Ravindra Jadeja offers a 5th bowling option for visitors, which means that they can contain a frontline bowler and an extra batsman. That would mean that India could play both Karun Nair and Sai Sudharsan, while both Prasidh Krishna and Arshdep Singh play. Dhruv Jurget and Akash Deep also exist as options. That would leave India with a long tail, something they experimented with during their last tour through England.

It would certainly mean a crooked team balance for the India vs England series, but it could be an imperfect solution. Nair hit a double hundred in India, a while that Jurel hit a 50s hat trick. Some security can come in handy with the line -up of India’s inexperience.
