Serhou Guirassy: Man United could benefit from Dortmund’s special clause – Man United news and transfer news | The People’s Person

The Bundesliga could once again provide an answer to the Manchester United striker’s concerns.

After failing to secure the services of a Premier League proven number nine, United paid a significant fee to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old has seemingly adapted well to the Premier League in his early days at United. Still, questions remain over the youngster’s ability to lead the Red Devils’ attack on his own given his inexperience.

Dortmund is open to selling Guirassy

Before Serhou Guirassy left VfB Stuttgart for Borussia Dortmund, United reportedly made an unsuccessful attempt to sign the Guinea international in January 2024. At the time it was believed that he would be available for a fee of around €20 million.

The 29-year-old has proven to be a shrewd entrepreneur for the Black and Yellows as his reputation has soared since then. He scored 44 goals and 13 assists in 60 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions.

According to ImageGuirassy “could soon leave Signal Iduna Park, but only at a “clearly agreed price”.

It has emerged that the Guinean striker’s contract with Dortmund contains a €50 million release clause, which only applies to a handful of clubs.

The German publication claims that United are among the few clubs who can sign Guirassy at a reduced price if they decide to make a move.

Meanwhile, clubs from less high-profile leagues, such as Saudi Arabia, would have to cough up as much as €80 million to have any chance of signing the Dortmund talisman.

Barcelona could replace Man United’s goal with Guirassy

United could face competition from Barcelona in the potential transfer race for Guirassy, as the Blaugrana also feature in the aforementioned list of clubs.

It is believed that Barca are looking to sign Guirassy to potentially replace the aging Robert Lewandowski.

The ex-Bayern Munich superstar has entered the final year of his contract at Camp Nou. Recently, The Peoples Person published a report claiming that United have “received new encouragement” to make a move for Lewandowski.
