Former Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova took advantage of a short dry enchantment on the WTA 500 Korea Open 2025 presented by Motiva to go past the Russian qualifying match Tatiana Prozorova, 6-1 6-2, in 76 minutes on Tuesday.
Krejcikova was the only player who completed a match on day 2 in Seoul, and even that was delayed for 2 hours before the players could reach the court.
In round 2, the 2-time Grand SLAM champion or the 8th placed Emma Raducanu or Jaqueline Cristian from Romania meets, whose opening meeting 1 of the 5 remaining games was postponed until Wednesday.
Raducanu, the British No. 1, pulled himself out of this week’s Billie Jean Jean King Cup final to prioritize her ranking on the WTA tour and continue her work with new coach Francisco Roig, the chance of a wildcard in Seoul.
Heavy rainfall on the Korean capital, however, ensured that her opening match against Cristian was postponed until Wednesday, with an estimated starting time of 6 am in the UK, which was then returned because the circumstances still had to pick up.

Only two other players managed to get to the field on Tuesday, and they split sets before Heaven opened again, after Diana Shnaider, the No. 5 seeds from Russia lost the first set 6-2 to Caty McNally, but then won the second against the American qualifying through the same score.
Defined defender Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No. 6 seed from Brazil, had also postponed her opener against Korean Wildcard, Back Dayon, together with Dutch wife Suzan Lamens against Tatjana Maria of Germany, and Sorana Cirstea from Romania against Anastasia Zakharova, a lucky loser.
