Antoine Semenyo will reportedly undergo medical treatment this week ahead of his move to Man City in the January transfer window.

The winger will join City from Bournemouth on a £65m contract. He is expected to play his last game for the Cherries on Wednesday when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Dean Court.

Sky Sports News report that Semenyo will undergo medical tests on Thursday as the transfer moves closer to completion.

“It is expected that formal steps will be taken” after the Spurs game, “with everything agreed in principle”. The player’s release clause expires on Friday.

Meanwhile, City could make a move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi after losing key defenders to injury. Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol joined John Stones on the treatment table after suffering injuries during Sunday’s draw against Chelsea.

City have recalled Max Alleyne from his loan at Watford to make up the numbers, but defensive signings could happen this month.

BBC Sports claim that City are “exploring a move for Guehi” in January but will wait until they know the full extent of Dias and Gvardiol’s condition before making a final decision on pursuing their interest. Liverpool are also interested in signing the centre-back, whose contract expires this summer.

Pep Guardiola played down the possibility of signing several players in January. “We might get something, but it’s completely different [to last season]. We are not going to buy four or five players like last season,” he said before the match with Brighton on Wednesday.

On Guehi’s future, Palace boss Oliver Glasner said: “I don’t know what will happen. It’s only the sixth [of January]. To be honest, I don’t know. Injuries can happen, you never know.

“But I know Marc will play tomorrow. I expect it. He has trained. But I don’t know what will happen.”
