Speaking to mediapersons in Mysuru on Thursday (Nov 27, 2025), Mr Yathindra said he has no information about any power-sharing deal as the Congress won the 2023 Assembly elections and Mr Siddaramaiah became the Chief Minister.
“Nobody ever talked about the power-sharing agreement within the party, and my father never talked about it either,” he added. This in itself means that no such formula has been established in the past, Mr Yathindra said.
“In case the party high command has given a word, they will resolve it,” he added.
Replying to a question, Mr Yathindra said there was no need to change the Chief Minister under the current circumstances because Mr Siddaramaiah not only provided competent and good governance but also because “there were no complaints or scams”.
Moreover, the party high command never discussed any change, Mr Yathindra said. “Personally, I am confident that Siddaramaiah will serve as Prime Minister for five years and complete his term,” he added.

On influential religious mutts and seers like Swami Nirmalananda of Adi Chunchanagiri Mutt, who extended support to DKShivakumar’s candidature as CM, Mr Yathindra said these were internal issues of the Congress.
“It is the party and the high command who will decide who should be the CM and we will not respond to the views of others. Every party worker will abide by what the high command decides,” he said.
On Shivakumar’s cryptic tweet that ‘the word power is world power’, Mr Yathindra said he did not know the context in which it was said.
