However, O’Malley believes Merab Dvalishvili could get the chance, and if he does, O’Malley said he will wait for the winner for one simple reason: money.
“I want Petr Yan. The point is, if I could make more money fighting someone else, I would want that too. O’Malley is hopeful he can skip Dvalishvili for the next title shot, as he believes him vs. Yan makes a lot of sense. He also thinks it’s possible the UFC could move in that direction.
Sean O’Malley plans to renegotiate his contract after UFC 324
Although O’Malley said he makes much less money as a non-champion, he does plan to renegotiate his contract. O’Malley said he has two fights left on his contract and believes this is a perfect time to pick up again, especially if he gets the title shot.
“I feel like I’ll probably renegotiate for my next fight. I hope (it’s more money),” O’Malley said.
