Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced on Friday to more than four years in prison about the condemnation of the Hiphop mogul in July about prostitution-related charges.
The 50 -month sentence was imposed by the American district judge Arun Subramanian during a hearing in the federal court of Manhattan. Combs, 55, had confronted the bars for up to 20 years.
He was convicted on two points of arranging paid male escorts to travel about state lines to participate in drug-oriented sexual designs known as “freak offs” with the friends of Combs while he recorded and masturbated.
The jury acquitted him on the more serious accusations of racketeering and sex trade, which could have given him a life sentence.

Those charges drew on the accusation of public prosecutors that Combs used violence and threats to force two of his girlfriends – the rhythm and blues singer Casandra Ventura, and a woman who is known in the court by the pseudonym Jane – to participate in the meetings.

Combs did not argue and are expected to appeal against his conviction. In a speech to the court before Subramanian imposed the punishment, Combs apologized to Ventura and Jane and said he had learned his lesson.

“I know that I will never give another person in my hands again,” said Combs, who has been behind bars in a Brooklyn prison since his arrest in September 2024.
“I was sick. Sick from the drugs, I was out of hand. I needed help, but I didn’t get the help,” Combs said.
Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, is credited to raise the status of hip hop in American culture.

The entrepreneur, born in New York, is one of the most prominent men in the entertainment industry that has had to deal with the charges of sex crimes.

Prosecutors insisted in court to consider abuse

Combs’s lawyers acknowledged that he had physically abused his girlfriends, but claimed that they willingly participated in the sexual performances.
Defense lawyers say that the correct punishment is 14 months, which would mean that Combs would be released by the end of the year after they received credit for the time served.
Prosecutors insist on a punishment of at least 11-1/4 years.
During the hearing, the public prosecutor Christy Slavik said that the defense was wrongly trying to portray the behavior of combs as a “small consequence of a sex, drug and rock and roll-lives style,” and argued that the judge should consider his abuse of his girlfriends.
“It would not be to let the suspect get away with years of domestic violence and abuse,” said Slavik.
Combs’ defense lawyer Brian Steel said that the behavior that led to the trial came while his client was in “a wild drug addiction”, and noted that he had spent 12 months and 17 days in prison.
“Sean has already been seriously punished,” said Steel.
