With the upcoming arrival of the Islam Makhachev in the Welterweight Division of the UFC to combat the current champion, Jack della Maddalena, it seems that the current cream of the division will have to wait until that fight takes place before they get their shot. Sean Brady has expressed the wish to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov in a number one content.
Talk about The Bradybagz show, Brady said: “I saw a small bird that Shavkat said something about him who came back in November or December, so when he returns in November, I want to fight quickly, but I would wait and fight him on MSG on the same card as Jack and Islam, and then that is a real number one contender’s Fight,” “
Brady added: “(Rakhmonov) was guaranteed a (title) fight. I defeated the number one man; who wins that the real number one will be contender, so I would like to do that. We will reach this week and see if that is an option.”
Brady is currently number two in the rankings of Weltergeweight and is on a three-fog winning series, with an impressive 18-1 record in MMA. His only loss came to former champion, Belal Muhamma, in which Belal dominated and eventually achieved a second round of TKO victory. Since then, Brady Kelvin Gastelum, Gilbert Burns and Leon Edwards has defeated, with his most recent victory against former champion Edwards as his most impressive victory so far. He dominated Edwards with pressure to force the fight to the ground, eventually to get the entry in round four. While Brady is predominantly a grappler, his improvement on the feet has been noticeable in recent years and has enabled him to bring his game to the next level.
Shavkat Rakhmonov is one of the scariest hunters of Welterweight and the Kazakhstani has an impressive undefeat record of 19-0, with 18 of those victories through finish. Rakhmonov has been advertised as a potential champion for a number of years. Rakhmonov wins on Geoff Neal, Stephen Thompson and Ian Machado Garry, where Garry is his most recent and demonstrably difficult fight. Rakhmonov is definitely a well -completed hunter, with 10 of his victories through the entry, and eight of his victories come via KO/TKO. He is dangerous in all aspects of MMA.
Brady and Rakhmonov probably seem to fight each other to decide the next competition in the division, and it would serve as an intriguing match between two of the best welter weights in the world.
