Scotty Cameron has launched new Onset Center (OC) Low Torque putters with the Phantom 11R OC and Studio Style Fastback OC, the two models in the series.
There have been many launches of zero torque puttersand Scotty Cameron have joined the trend with their first ‘Low Torque’ models in the form of the Phantom 11R OC and the Fastback OC hammers.
The two new additions are both popular models in other ranges, but in the OC range they feature the benefits of ultra-stable, low-torque technology combined with classic Scotty Cameron feel and feedback.
Both feature a center axis design that provides minimal torque and rotation during the putting stroke, with the design intended to keep the clubface as square as possible at impact.
Advantages and disadvantages
✅ Low torque axle placement (Onset Center) reduces twisting and provides a square feel
✅ Promotes straight back and through putting with minimal facial rotation for consistent alignment
✅ Improved stability and higher MOI (Moment of Inertia) head shapes improve forgiveness and consistency
✅ The shaft slope is minimal (one degree), which ensures a neutral position and unobstructed view at address
❌ The low torque configuration may not be suitable for golfers who prefer more toe hang
❌Heavier head weight may require an adjustment period for those accustomed to lighter putters
❌ Limited initial models and shaft configurations may not suit every golfer
Scotty Cameron Phantom 11R OC Putter Design and Specifications
The Phantom 11R OC is a classic mallet-style putter built on the popular Phantom 11 design, but with new low-end torque features.
It is designed for players who demand ultimate stability with minimal face rotation and consistent alignment on the greens
The OC version of the putter has been redesigned with softer, rounder edges and equipped with Scotty Cameron’s Onset Center (OC) shaft position for minimal torque and maximum stability.
The shaft is directly in line with the center of gravity and also features a subtle one-degree forward slope to promote a straight back and straight stroke.
The 11R OC features a heavier head, constructed from a 303 stainless steel face and body and a 6061 aircraft aluminum sole/flange, which contributes to MOI and forgiveness without sacrificing premium, responsive feel.
The putter also features a new milled chain link face, which softens sound and increases feedback by reducing points of contact with the ball.
The Phantom 11R OC is available in 33-inch, 34-inch and 35-inch lengths, right-handed and left-handed versions and comes with a special black KBS x Scotty Cameron axle and a custom 11-inch Matador grip.
Design and specifications of Scotty Cameron Studio Style Fastback OC Putter
The Fastback is one of Scotty Cameron’s most popular mid-mallet models and gets a new low-torque design in the Onset Center series.
Has already been launched as one Xperimental Limited Edition putters in 2025, the Fastback OC version is built on the Studio Style look and retains the classic Scotty Cameron aesthetic.
Like the Phantom 11R OC, it features a center axis that is directly in line with the center of gravity for a low-torque, anti-twist putting experience.

The design ensures the clubface remains square to the shot path and supports speed control and confidence in alignment, even on off-center hits. A one degree shaft slope also helps with a straight shot.
Also part of the design is the Scotty Cameron Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) face insert, which features chain link milling for a smooth sound at impact.
Featuring a slightly heavier head than other versions for a greater moment of inertia, the Fastback OC is ideal for players who want the feel and feedback of a traditional mid-mallet, but with modern low-torque anti-twist benefits.
The Fastback OC is available in 33-inch, 34-inch and 35-inch lengths, but only as right-handed putters. It comes with a special black KBS x Scotty Cameron axle and a custom 11-inch Matador grip.
Scotty Cameron Onset Center Low Torque Putters Review: Are They Any Good?
While rivals LAB, Odyssey, TaylorMade, PXG and Bettinardi have led the way with zero-torque putters, Scotty Cameron has not entered the fray thus far.
All the impressive features and performance of Scotty Cameron putters are still part of the OC range, but the Phantom 11R and Fastback come with anti-twist and low torque benefits that have become all the rage.
Both models offer reduced face rotation, a straighter shot and precise head weighting for maximum forgiveness – all while delivering Scotty Cameron feel and feedback. They are a real winner.
