Scotland: Brave Cup Off for a target score start in Strathallan

Devils 1-3 (3-4) Thunder (Aspirant girls)

Thunder started a winning start in the aspiring girls Brave Cup 2025 with a 3-1 victory over Devils at Strathallan school. Thunder then picked up the bonus point with a 4-3 victory in the shootout.

Devils started the game well and made two early chances, but Thunder treated the danger well.

It was an even match without clear opportunities on the goal. The first chance arrived in the second quarter when Thunder’s Alex Burdon’s Drag flick hit the left pole and zipped clearly.

A counterattack for Thunder early in the second half, Ava Heasley saw the side of the right shifting in a tight angle.

Devils then found the opener a nice finish of Tabitha Peck for 1-0 in the left corner corner.

Thunder burst into life and a passing movement through the circle saw Lily McKaig fire the ball into the net to make it right. 1-1.

Then in the last quarter an AGM Graham Penaltyhoek collapsed in the right corner to put Thunder on 2-1.

The victory for Thunder was protected when they broke in the Devils Circle and shifted the ball to the distant pole for MCKAIG 5 to end. 3-1.

The battle for the bonus point was epic and it took 13 rounds in the shootout before Thunder eventually won 4-3.

Devils 3-5 (1-3) Thunder (Aspirant boys)

A Brave Cup 2025 Landed Aspirant Opening Competition saw Thunder Devils 5-3 defeated in Strathallan. The bonus point in the shootout also went to Thunder with a 3-1 victory.

Devils started quickly and quickly took the lead. Alex Thomson wiped the ball home on the reverse to bring it 1-0.

Devils were denied a fast second goal when a penalty corner was well saved by the keeper.

The second goal of Devils arrived quickly enough when a routine of a penalty corner was finished by Theo Wood for 2-0.

Thunder withdrew one before the end of the first quarter through a cut and finish by Cameron Mitchell to bring the score to 2-1.

There was a fast equalizer for Thunder when Andrew McGrane hit a tow film in the left under corner for 2-2.

Thunder then took the lead when Angus Millar burst into the circle from the left and the ball slid through the keeper’s legs for 3-2.

A penalty stroke was awarded to Thunder, but they got a fourth goal from an excellent diving saving on the right.

The fourth goal for Thunder would come soon enough and it was another corner of McGrane in the left under corner that made it 4-2.

In the last quarter, a quick attack on the left was finished by a scooped finish in the roof of the net by Murray Bett to bring 5-2 for Thunder.

Devils quickly bit back with a short distance by Alex Thomson, making it 5-3, but there would be no further goals and Thunder took the victory.

Devils 2-1 (3-4) Thunder (emerging girls)

Devils defeated Thunder 2-1 on day one of the emerging girls Brave Cup 2025 in Strathallan. The shooting voucher went to Thunder with a 4-3 victory.

A slow start of the game was taken to life when Devils took the lead. Connie East turned and shot to the goal and the ball squeezed 1-0 under the goalkeeper.

Thunder almost the same as the thrust of the rest, but a powerful penalty squad was just wide of the left post.

Early in the second half, Thunder equalized when Lucy Langlands hit the ball home for 1-1.

Late in the last quarter, Devils came in front again and it was a wonderful nearby post-redeem by Ruby Hudson who made it 2-1 and claimed the home victory.

A tight and tense shootout went to Thunder with a 4-3 victory in sudden death.

Devils 5-2 (3-2) Thunder (emerging boys)

The last game of the day Devils Thunder saw 5-2 beating in emerging boys Brave Cup 2025 in Strathallan. A 3-2 victory in the shootout saw the Devils take the bonus point.

Devils came out quickly and immediately went looking for goals. Yash Chiniwala rushed forward on a Mazy Run and shot just wide from the left post.

It was not long before Devils took the lead and it came through an Ollie Holden-Penalty stroke to the right corner for 1-0.

In the second quarter, Devils seemed to be sure, but for a spectacular last Snap saves by Kerr Hopcroft Low left of him.

Devilish survived an abundance of criminal angles when the peace approached and Thunder was able to taste an equalizer.

In the beginning of the second half, the Thunder -equal maker arrived when they brought their first half momentum ahead. 1-1.

Devils went back for the penalty spot when Loghan Gruar found the left corner for 2-1.

It went to 3-1 when Brian Bruce John McGarrity Low shot in the net for Devils.

McGarrity brought the score at 4-1 for Devils in the last quarter with a low shot over the keeper in the right corner.

James Sheridan pulled one back for Thunder from a penalty corner rebound in the left pole to bring it 4-2.

Devils then recovered their three target advantage when McGarrity took his hat trick from a penalty corner for 5-2 to complete the score.

Devils also took the bonus point with a 3-2 victory in the shootout.
