8 Schools present their musical talents August 23 in NRG Stadium
The next national battle for the bands will take place in Houston on August 23 in NRG Stadium.
According to HBCU GamedayWebber Marketing held a press conference. The company is work With the Harris County – Houston Sports Authority and Lone Star Sports & Entertainment to bring the 2025 Pepsi National Battle of the Bands to the public. This will be the 11th anniversary of the event.
Eight schools will present the talents of the musicians who participate in the national struggle for the bands.
“The 2025 PEPSI National Battle of the Bands Line -Up is official here, and we bring 8 of the most dynamic marching bands in the country to NRG Stadium in August!”
“Every year we strive to elevate the platform and experience,” said Derek Webber, CEO of Webber Marketing and executive producer of the National Battle of the Bands, in a written statement. “NBOTB is more than a performance. It is a movement that celebrates tradition, talent and the cultural impact of HBCUs throughout the country.”
The recommended schools are:
- Alabama A & M University – Marching Maroon & White
- Albany State University – Marching Rams Show Band
- Florida A & M University – Marching “100”
- Jackson State University – Sonic Boom of the South
- Langston University – Marching Pride band
- North Carolina A&T State University – Blue & Gold Marching Machine
- Prairie View A & M University – Marching storm
- Texas Southern University – “Ocean or Soul”
The event will contain various functions for the community outside and in combination with the NBOTB.
2025 NBOTB Weekend Highlights include:
- Emerging experience entrepreneurial conference: Connect powered by JPMorgan Chase, innovators and leaders of small companies. Free with registration.
- Fan Experience (Saturday 23 August in NRG Center from 12:00 – 3.30 pm):
A free, community-oriented event that brings the energy of the NBOTB weekend to life. The fan experience houses the following major activations: - The Pepsi experience: An interactive experience with national artist performance, live entertainment and a lively marketplace of suppliers and partners.
- HBCU College & Career Fair: A resource-rich event that connects students with HBCUs and career opportunities through admission information, repetitions on location and more.
- Walking of the competition: A dynamic showcase of Step and Stroll culture, celebrating Black Greek letter organizations and HBCU tradition.
- NBOTB takes care of a community reach: Returning by initiatives such as feeding the involvement of homeless and youth.
