SBI General Insurance reveals adaptable health alpha plan

SBI General Insurance launched Health Alpha on Tuesday and marked the first product insurance product of the retail trade that was introduced after GST reforms.

The insurer established in Mumbai positions the offer as a fully adjustable plan with more than 50 coverage options and insured amount ranging from £ 5 Lakh to unlimited coverage.

The product contains various industrial elements, including a gym and sports injury that offers outpatient benefits for fitness -related injuries. Policy holders also have access to a maximum of 10 times cumulative bonus annually if no claims are submitted, and a “endless sum insured” option that covers once during the lifetime of the basic coverage for hospital admissions.

Health Alpha enables customers to buy policy for a maximum of five years, with effect from the age set for adults without upper limit restrictions and 91 days to 25 years for children. The insurer offers a welcome discount of 5 percent if the policy is purchased within five days of generating quotations.

Deputy CEO MOHD. Arif Khan stated that the product is tackling the rising medical costs due to affordable, accessible coverage with extensive hospital networks and streamlined claim processes.

SBI General Insurance, founded in 2009, operates 146 national branches and reported gross written premium of £ 14,140 crore in FY 2024-25, as a representation of 11.1 percent growth on an annual basis. The company recently won several industrial prizes, including the Interior General Insurer of the Year at the Insurance Asia Awards 2025 Singapore.
