SAN JOSE – A housing development that has been presented for South San Jose has been removed and is now running to Townhomes prior to a public assessment of the potential environmental effects.
If built, the project would be 5670 Camden Ave. 108 mansion units produce on about a block of Blossom Hill Road, show the city planning files. When the project came to light for the first time in 2023, the developer initially proposed 136 homes and a self -storage center.
The self -storage unit is no longer mentioned in current plans.
The terraced houses would be spread over 32 buildings on the site. The proposal states that 20 three units would contain and 12 would take place of four units.
The 2023 proposal had outlined plans for more than 100 affordable units. Now the majority will be market speed options.
“A total of eight units would be enforced as extremely low income homes,” states a report that was drawn up in April for the report of the city planning. “These units would be alternated with the Marktrate units and would be in several buildings in the entire project site.”
The project would also remove several sports fields, as well as one or more buildings related to their operation.
Project developer Mana Investments has started the remedy plan of a builder to streamline the assessment process for the proposal, city officials in public documents. The project was proposed before the government officials gave the final approval to the city -wide blueprint of San Jose in January 2024.
According to the remedial approach of a builder, cities that do not have the state element approved by the State cannot deny the approval of qualification projects, even if the proposals are not consistent with a general plan or destination laws.
The project is currently starting with a public assessment process for the design report of the Environmental Impact proposal.
