The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), public health and regulatory officials and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) investigate an outbreak van Salmonella Oranienburg infections in two states linked to EMEK Branded Pistachio Cream.
On Monday, the CDC gave a warning of food safety warning consumers not to eat – and companies not to sell or serve – the nut butter spread used in desserts and other dishes. The product was imported into the United States, where it sold online for wholesale distributors, restaurants and locations in food service nationwide.

The diseases started on data ranging from 10 March 2025 to 19 May 2025.
The recalled product is as follows:

- Date of use: October 19, 2026
- Package: Can be packed in a 2-pound white bathtub
- Production code (PNO): 241019
The research is underway and the FDA works to determine whether additional parties or products are influenced.
According to the CDC, the total number of people who are being sick is probably much higher than the reported number, and this outbreak may not be limited to the states with current known diseases.
This is because many people recover without medical care and are not tested on Salmonella. Moreover, recent diseases cannot yet be reported, because it is usually necessary3 to 4 weeksTo determine whether a sick part is of an outbreak.
What is Salmonella and what are the symptoms?
Salmonella is a bacterium that can make you very sick when you are taken.
Most infected people experience diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever. Those with the greatest risk are children under the age of 5, adults aged 65 and older, and people with compromised immune system.
