This small image is another proof that should be placed for people who think that Arteta will be ready this season if he doesn’t all win. Football is about trophies, certainly, but it is also about things. Part of that company ensures that money is spent well and appreciates assets in value.
Arsenal has the most valuable team in the Premier League – and the second most valuable in the world. This graph from Nick Wright from Sky Sports not only shows that our players are worth a lot, but also that most of them are worth more than what we have paid for it.
A large part of it comes from teenagers that we have signed or brought by the academy. The coaching setup from Arsenal from top to bottom is a machine for creating value creation. Arteta is a world -class coach and that number is largely due to his ability to improve players. And it gets even better … Max Dowman is not even appreciated by a transfer market.
We punch above our weight in the transfer market – even if it doesn’t always feel that way.

The sale starts to roll in and my word, the costs are not great … but they are still costs. Real money. Actual movements, not just loans.
The names we view:
Kiwior: £ 25m
I don’t like the reimbursement. It is actually what we have paid, invoiced for next summer, and the assumption is that we have either paid too much or have not improved him. Bargain. I had heard last year that his wife from London and wanted to go back to Italy, that is why Palace did not. Porto is not rich, it is what it is.
Reiss: £ 15m
The worst re-signing the Arteta era. Injury, not really debit, always a bit flat. He is fast, good at one-V-one situations, but never felt fully focused. I still don’t know why we gave him a £ 100k-per-week deal until 2027. Now Palace gets him for £ 15 million. Bargain for them. Lesson for Arsenal: do not hand out large deals to Hale Enders who do not cut it.
Fabio: £ 17m
I would take a bag of Maltesers. Too small, does not press and I still do not understand why we have signed a player who is not suitable for the competition. There is talent there, but it will not be generated in the Premier League. Arsenal wants £ 25 million, no chance. Write it off, take the tax holiday.
Sambi: £ 5m
Trabzonspor circling. In the animal kingdom this is the scavenger that last eating at the carcass. The reimbursement is low, wages are low. Never close the level, despite the promises of Kompany. We wanted a 6, he turned out to be an 8 … not a good one. The clips of that Amazon Doc probably did not help his brand. Another great depreciation.
Zinchenko: £ 10m
I think I’m generous. Bad calf, terrible injury record. But he is a top player, a winner, genius on the ball. I can’t believe he’s still there. He would upgrade the most Premier League midfields, but the wages are a huge problem … Plus his family is a preference for London’s life. His salary was not an arsenal error – it was the costs of progress. He helped this team to three 2nd place finishes and back in the Champions League. Huge part of the mentality shift.
Martinelli: £ 65 million
He is now excess. Great wages, at least two players tied up for him with Eze and Trossard. You can’t afford £ 170k-per week on the couch for Liverpool. I love him, but Arsenal adds an overlapping left back like the end. Saudi? Maybe. Atletico Madrid? Feels perfect.
Gabriel Jesus: £ 20m
Terrible injury record, never fits, but still a jewel of a player. Brazil clubs sniffed. Can play the front three, unlock offers from the bank. But it would need a brave club to absorb the loan costs and wages. Could stay as a Martinelli coverage when Gabi leaves. But no future here. That amounts to two things: goals and availability. Two things. Ok, stop correcting me before you finish the section.
Miserable sales. But tell me – which Premier League club outside Chelsea is Deadwood shifting for major costs? No. Liverpool received £ 15 million for Kelleher, who was one of the best keepers of the competition last season. Villa has sold two players. United has not shifted anyone yet (maybe Garnacho). Spurs have only brought in £ 25 million. Chelsea is the only club that begged nobodies for stupid money – and those figures feel prepared by friendly journos.
The market is crooked. Big Money buys that Flop loses 75% of their value. Maintain smaller purchases at its best value. It is a buyer market because large clubs hoard players and party the smaller clubs.
Okay, that’s my hot takes. Therapy this week is a member. Now go on it – and make sure you have registered. X
