Stephan spoke to the press ahead of Friday’s match confirmed that QPR winger Karamoko Dembele will be absent against Charlton Athletic. The 22-year-old is undergoing further tests to determine the extent of his new injury.

Will also be absent new signing Justin Obikwu. The young striker suffered a minor niggle during training and is expected to be available for his Hoops debut sooner or later.

Unfortunately for Stephan, none of his already sidelined players will be fit again. That includes Ilias Chair, Kwame Poku, Rumarn Burrell, Jake Clarke-Salter, Jonathan Varane and Ziyad Larkeche.

Amadou Mbengue returns from suspension after being sent off in the defeat to Wrexham.

Predicted XI

(4-2-3-1)

Walsh; Edwards, Dunne, Cook, Norrington-Davies; Hayden, Madsen; Smyth, Vale, Saito; Machine

With injuries continuing within the QPR squad, the line-up against Charlton Athletic will remain largely unchanged from the line-up that defeated Coventry City. Rotation would be welcome, but Stephan will hope the team can build on that big win.

Joe Walsh continues as number one and despite the return of Mbengue, the back line should remain unchanged. Ronnie Edwards should be included in the starting line-up and he will probably play at right back again.

The midfield duo of Madsen and Isaac Hayden remain unchanged, but off the ball Koki Saito comes on for the injured Dembele.

Koki Saito’s 2025/26 status

The Japanese star made his return to action last weekend and will probably be preferred to the young players Rayan Kolli and Daniel Bennie.

Kone remains in the lead in Burrell’s absence as he appears to be starting to hit a productive run of form.
