The game companies and the Case-Naftra The trade union of the actors has reached an agreement that is expected to end a long strike.
As soon as the conditions of a strike suspension agreement have been completed by employers, the strike will be over. The strike was mainly about the rights of voice actors of video games when it comes to the use of their voices or similarities when it comes to the use of AI by the game companies to reproduce actors in their games.
Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the signatories of Videoga companies have reached an agreement. The strike has been underway since July 26, 2024.
The companies include Activision Productions Inc., Blindlight LLC, Disney Character Voices Inc., Electronic Arts Productions Inc., Epic Games Inc., Formosa Interactive LLC, Insomniac Games Inc., Take 2 Productions Inc. and WB Games Inc.
They have reached a provisional agreement on conditions for the interactive media contract, subject to assessment and approval by the National Council and ratification by membership in the coming weeks. Specific details of the agreement are released with the ratification material.
It is expected that the conditions of a strike hiss will soon be completed by employers. Until such an agreement is reached, SAG-AFTRA members will remain in strike against these employers.
SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland said in a statement: “Everyone at SAG-AFTRA is extremely grateful for the sacrifices of video game artists and the dedication of the interactive media agreement negotiating committee during these many months of the video game strike.”

SAG-AFTRA members are 11 months in strike against video game employers. Before that, SAG-AFTRA members approved a strike of video games in September 2023 with a voice of 98.32%.
