The Buffalo Sabres have signed defender Conor Timmins for a two -year contract worth an average annual value of $ 2.2 million, the Team announced Sunday. The 26-year-old was taken over from the Pittsburgh Penguins on 28 June in a deal that also brought Isaac Bell level to Buffalo in exchange for Connor Clifton and a pick in the second round.

Timmins became a limited free agent on July 1. He played a career-high 68 games in the 2024-25 season, divided between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He registered 15 points (3 goals, 12 assists) and a plus-11 rating, on average 18:43 in Ice Age.

Sabres General Director Kevyn Adams identified Timmins as an important part of the team’s mission outside the season to strengthen the right side of his blue line and called him “a solid two -way player who is large, a right shot” and an important piece in stimulating the Defense Corps. Heavily stacked with talent on the left (Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power and Bowen Byram), Timmins, on 6-foot-3, joins 6-foot-5 Michael Kesselring as the most important additions of the club on the right.

Buffalo now has $ 5.2 million in projected CAP room with 23 signed players. Goalkeeper Devon Levi remains the only non -signed limited free agent of the team.

According to AFP Analytics, Timmins “probably had a fairly strong arbitration valley” and praised the front office of the Sabres for getting a deal. Benchrates projects a “modest breakthrough” season with the potential for a 30-point campaign.
