Ryder Cup Practice-Round Ticket Prices have plummeted

Ryder Cup Practice-Round Ticket Prices have plummeted

When the PGA of America announced the ticket prices for the Ryder Cup 2025 at Bethpage Black last fall, the figures pulled a collective spit of Golffans – or at least Golffans on social media. One -day gate passes for the competitions were a princely $ 750 (including food and drinks), which represented a markup of 400 percent of the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome.

Exercise rounds were also steep: $ 255 for Tuesday and Wednesday, and $ 424 for Thursday, which is supplied with some extra goodies in the form of playing the Junior Ryder Cup, a Celeb match and the pump and the pump and the circumstances of the opening ceremonies.

Tickets for all rounds sold out over 48 hours, suggesting that the PGA of America had priced them in the right way, at least for reading the market demand.

But with Ryder Cup Week now on us, is the same question still there?

For answers, we turn to the secondary market, where the inflation or deflation of ticket prices is an excellent indicator for the popularity of an event. (See: Swift, Taylor.) On Monday morning, an overview of the offers of three large ticket sellers – Stubhub, lively chairs and Gametime – that the demand for the competition days has remained high.

When shopping for tickets as a couple, the average price per ticket for those three resellers was $ 1,308 for the Friday sessions, $ 1,107 for Saturday and $ 798 for Sunday’s singles matches. All those rates are north of the original asking price, although Sunday is only $ 48. And don’t be surprised if the prices go down as the week progresses, especially when one team opens a considerable lead on Friday or Saturday.

Practice-round rates, however, tell a different story.

If you only look at Stubhub, which currently has the lowest prices for the exercise days, you can get a Tuesday ticket – again, if you buy them in pairs – for only $ 83 and a Wednesday ticket for $ 117. The prices of Thursday also have, up to $ 112, also partially decreased to the rainy prediction for that day. (Seat Geek, the official ticket supplier for PGA of America, showed no lists below the nominal value.) These rates represent Affarkdowns of 65%, 50%and 74%respectively.

The moral of the story? Fans of New York are there to the tail to see the Ryder Cup stars shot – but only if those shots count for something.
