World No.13 Casper Ruud returns for his fifth consecutive Laver Cup performance, participating in this year’s team for this year’s event, which takes place in the Chase Center in San Francisco of 19-21 September 2025.

The Norwegian star, who won the Madrid Open title earlier this season, will stand in line next to World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz, World No. 3 Alexander Zverev and World No. Holger Rune led by newly appointed Team Europe Captain, Yannick Noah. The last two European players will be announced in the coming weeks.

Three-time Grand Slam finalist Ruud made his Laver Cup debut in Boston (2021) and has since been an integral part of the team, competing in London (2022), Vancouver (2023) and Berlin (2024). He has a 4-2 profit-loss record in the competition.

“The Laver Cup is incredible and brings Europe together with its rich tennis history to take on the rest of the world,” said Ruud.

“I love to represent Europe, and doing my best for the entire continent, not just my country. The team aspect is unique – playing together with boys who are usually my rivals and support each other is something that we do not often experience.

“I am really looking forward to playing for Yannick and Tim for the first time – they are a dynamic duo and it will be really cool. And I am excited to visit San Francisco for the first time. I am a big Golden State Warriors fan, so playing in Chase Center will be something special.”

Noah welcomed Ruud’s return and praised the consistency and spirit of the 26-year-old.

“Casper is a great competitor who brings experience, passion and tranquility to the team environment,” said Noah. “He understands the spirit of the Laver Cup and is exactly the kind of player you want by your side. I’m glad he is back.”

About the Net, Team World, led this year for the first time by eight times Grand Slam champion Andre Agassi, promises to offer fierce competition while they want to conquer their third Laver Cup. Their line so far includes American Trio – Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul – in addition to the rising Brazilian star Joao Fonseca, with two more players mentioned for the US Open.

Now in his eighth edition, De Laver Cup places six of the best men’s tennis players from Europe against six of their counterparts from the rest of the world in an exciting three -day league.

The competition played on a dramatic black court and rotates host cities between Europe and the world every year. The six players of each team must all participate in one singles match during the first two days, and no more than two during the three-day league. At least four of the six players have to play twice. Each competition win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday and three points on Sunday, with the first team that reached 13 points that the Laver Cup win.

The 2025 edition of Laver Cup marks the first performance of the event on the American west coast, with the ultramodern Chase Center, the home base of the seven-time NBA champion Golden State Warriors and Wnba’s Golden State Valkyries, who is organizing tennis for the first time.
