Based on what the Minnesota Timberwolves did this summer, it seems that they are making preparations for the Post-Rudy Gobert era. I don’t believe they make an active attempt to get rid of him, but if there will be a strange man in this current schedule, I think Rudy is the man.
We knew a bit that a difficult decision should be made with regard to the great men of the team at a certain moment. I mean, we already saw one movement in that category less than a year ago when Minnesota Karl-Anthony Towns dealt with the New York Knicks. But even further, more money -saving movements should always be made.
This was and is one of the most expensive teams in the competition. Even after they have been handed over from Kat’s contract, the Wolves had a number of more difficult decisions to take Julius Randle, Naz Reid or Nickeil Alexander-Walker. One should go, and of course it became a name.
After the final of the Western Conference was over a few months ago, Timberwolves fans full of excitement waited for the next step outside of season. Who would be signed again? The name that flashed over the screen that was linked to a message from Shams Charania would probably not be a commercial candidate.
Minnesota knows that Gobert is getting older
So we have learned that Minnesota really appreciates Naz Reid and Julius Randle in their long -term plans. Both have received contract extensions this summer, which will probably indicate that Gobert will be moving somewhere in the near future.
If that was clearly not the case, it should have become even clearer when the Timberwolves had also set up two big boys in Joan Beringer and Rocco Zikarsky. The Front Office clearly hopes that one of those two pans later as a starting center option was later along the line.
So this means that Minnesota Gobert has become tired and does not think they can win with him? Far from it. They clearly still think that their title window is open as their starter, or they would have traded it. But they probably see writing on the wall that he is getting a little older and not playing at a high level forever.
Even if he never plays another game in a Timberwolves -Uniform, Rudy Gobert’s inheritance is stamped in a Timberwolves -Uniform. He was one of the most important catalysts to bring this team to the level of an eternal competition, and the fan base should always remember him lovingly long after he is gone.
