Former UFC -Welterweight title Challenger Rory MacDonald could end his retirement.

Macdonald withdrew from MMA in August 2022 after a 2-4 run in the PFL. The Canadian said he lost the passion for the sport and no one wanted to hurt anymore. Since then he has been out of the spotlight. But since then he has returned to the gym and Stephen Thompson helped to prepare for his last fight.

Now that he is approaching three years after his retirement, Rory MacDonald is putting the door for a return.

“I don’t know, but I am back in the gym full -time. It has me lovingly again, that’s for sure. I don’t know where that will lead, but I enjoy my time in martial arts again. It just feels good,” MacDonald said to Ariel Helwani. “I train twice a day, three times a day. It is certainly more than staying in shape. I try to improve myself. There is nothing certain. I just have fun on this point, and I just let God take the direction in my life. Where the doors open, if there are opportunities, I will go.”

MacDonald challenged Robbie Lawler for the Welterweight title on UFC 189, and it is one of the biggest fights in the UFC history. He also won the Bellator Welterweight title. Although he has won the Bellator title, MacDonald says that he has not achieved his goals to be a UFC champion, poured him out.
