With different members of the Los Angeles Dodgers who quickly return from an injury, the status of a highly promoted pitcher from Japan remains a relative mystery.
Los Angeles Dodgers -Manager Dave Roberts spoke with the media Wednesday on different topics. One of those topics was the status of Rookie Werger Roki Sasaki and his lack of success recently in Triple-A.

“I am surprised. Because the talent level is certain,” said Roberts. “The implementation, the stuff has not been there. I think there should be a tap in things. And you would also expect more against Triple-A Hitters.”
Sasaki has built a 7.07 ERA in 14 innings during his stay in the minors. His speed is far below what it had been in Japan, and there could be a real reason for concern.
“I think the bar is now high, because we are in a pennant race,” said Roberts. “So to justify pitching at the moment, there must be urgency on his part and really dominant performance. That is the level of where we are now. That is why I am confident that I am sure about certain expectations for Roki.
“As I said a few weeks ago, we have to go with our best guys. And this is the moment, right now. And again, Roki has experienced a lot this year. And he still has a lot of talent. We just want to see more.”
It makes perfect sense that Sasaki would be a long recording to be on the postseason selection. His smoking year has been tumultuous to say the least. Injuries and the acclimatization process to come to a new country have apparently done a number of Sasaki, resulting in a lack of success in relation to expectations.
With almost the entire starting pitching and the Healthy and the recent rise of Emmet Sheehan, there is just to bring Sasaki back to the large competitions and the risk of running even more reliability problems.
